Due to increasing trade volume, and to maintain the highest quality of execution, we are significantly upgrading our server capacity from Sunday 26th July 2009.
From Sunday 26th July, Alpari (UK) Micro accounts will be managed via two separate, dedicated servers. A proportion of Micro account holders will be managed through the new server and those account holders will require new IP address settings.
The server upgrade will be completed by midnight on Saturday 25th July so that trading can continue without interruption at market open at 23:00 on Sunday 26th July.
All Micro account holders will also receive an email with information regarding new IP settings.
Micro accounts requiring action: Account No. 35000 onwards
For these accounts, ‘Micro 2’ will be the dedicated server and should be selected from the MetaTrader 4 login drop-down menu.
Micro accounts requiring no action: Account No. 1– 34999
Those clients whose Micro accounts require no action can continue to use MetaTrader 4 as normal.
PLEASE NOTE: The new version of MetaTrader 4 does not contain new functionality and has been developed to incorporate new IP address settings only.
From Sunday 26th July onwards, if you download the new version of MetaTrader 4, for instance to install on another computer, you should select Micro 1 on the ‘Server’ drop-down menu.
We still recommend that you check that your account is fully accessible before the market opens on Sunday 26th July at 23:00.
1. Download the new version of MetaTrader 4 with new IP settings pre-installed
Downloading the new latest version of MetaTrader 4 with the new IP address pre-loaded is the most convenient way of updating your IP address setting.
After you have downloaded the new version, login in the normal way. You will see your dedicated server - either ‘Micro 1’ server or ‘Micro 2’ - listed in the drop-down ‘Server’ menu.
The new version of MetaTrader 4 is available now and can be downloaded at any time. Please note that when you download and login for the first time, you will see in the server drop down menu a choice of options:
• Demo
• Classic
• Micro 1
• Micro 2
Until the server upgrade is effective at 23:00 Saturday 26th July, please select ‘Micro 1’. After the server upgrade please select ‘Micro 1’ or ‘Micro 2 depending on your login number.
Download the new version of MetaTrader 4
2. Change your IP settings manually
If you are unable to download the new version of MetaTrader 4 for any reason, you can change your IP address setting manually.
Micro-account holders requiring new IP settings will need to update them at the first opportunity AFTER midnight Saturday 25th July.
To change your settings:
1. Open MetaTrader 4
2. Select ‘File’ then’ Login’
3. In the ‘Login’ field enter your Alpari (UK) Login/account number
4. In the ‘Password’ field enter your password
5. In the ‘Server’ field enter either of the following IP addresses:
If your login number is 35000 or above:
193.46.204.124
212.187.233.36
84.45.12.144
89.238.157.29

If your login number is 1 - 34999:
You do not need to change your IP address setting. However if you do wish to change, the instructions can be found in Section 3 of our FAQs: What are the IP addresses for live accounts?
You will then have full access to your account and the new IP address setting will be saved automatically
6. Check ‘Save account information’ if you would like your login details to be saved for future use.
If the MetaTrader 4 does not save the information automatically, and you are sure that you are entering the correct login and password, please try entering an alternative IP address.
Please note that, once accepted, MetaTrader 4 will store the new IP address automatically. You will not need to re-enter the IP address again once it has been accepted by the system.
7. Click ‘Login’ to access your account.
