MetaQuotes has launched a new programming language, MQL5, to enhance one of MetaTrader’s most popular features, its EA compatibility. EAs are mechanical systems that allow traders to fully automate their trading processes and analytical activities to execute trades more efficiently. MQL5 is designed to make it easier to code EAs and quicker to optimise them.
The new MT5 Strategy Tester cuts the time it takes to backtest an EA from several hours or even days to minutes. It allows traders to test their strategies not just on their own computer but on a cluster of thousands of computers based all over the world. The complex task of testing and optimising EAs is thereby broken down into digestible chunks which the computers in the cluster can complete in minutes, saving the programmer valuable time and making the process highly efficient. Please note that MetaQuotes charges a fee for testing EAs on its MQL5 Cloud Network.
