Alpari (UK) hosts Breakfast Forex Seminars with City A.M. and Bloomberg

6th June and 2nd July saw 200 retail and institutional Forex traders attend the first Alpari (UK) breakfast seminars for an insight into the key issues, developments and trends in the Forex market.

The Venue
Held at the impressive Bloomberg headquarters in the City of London, delegates heard presentations from Alpari (UK)’s Chief Operating Officer, David Stuart and Allister Heath, Editor of City A.M. newspaper.

The Speakers
Presentations covered a wide range of areas: market volatility, macro-economic pressures, global currency issues and the impact of all these factors on the Forex market.

David Stuart (Chief Operating Officer – Alpari (UK)) – ‘Financial markets: Friend and Foe’
“The global economic crisis has shocked the status quo but also empowered those who are able to adapt to changing market conditions. Volatility, technology and uncertainty are currently working in the retail investor’s favour, but a big question-mark remains regarding the policy response and sustained uncertainty remains regarding the impact in the future.”

Allister Heath (Chief Editor – City A.M.) – ‘Forex from a different perspective’
“For Forex traders, the fact that the UK and global economies are at a tipping point is cause for significant uncertainty. If this is a turning point as well, which direction is the market headed? With a change of government next year looking ever more likely, geopolitical risk is still the name of the game.”

The Feedback
Feedback from delegates was very positive and the seminars clearly answered a need for informed discussion about the issues of the day and their impact on Forex trading.

The Question & Answer session following the presentations covered a wide range of topics, from UK quantitative easing to the rise of the BRIC economies. Chief amongst them was the effects of volatility on retail traders’ earning potential, with the three presenters agreeing that current levels of market volatility continue to offer considerable opportunity.

David Stuart (Alpari (UK)'s COO) commented:
“At Alpari (UK) we are always looking for ways to improve our Forex clients’ online trading experience. These seminars help raise awareness and understanding of the core economic issues of the day and so help our clients and the wider trading community make more informed and measured trading decisions.”
